| Description | In the .pot file, the following string can be found : "The·following·%1·file%2·were·deleted,·releasing·%3·%4bytes·of·disk·space" This method assumes the plural form is always built by adding an "s" to the end of the translation of the word "file". This is not true for most languages. There is almost the same example described here : http://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/html_node/gettext_150.html the same remark applies to other translatable strings in the .pot. | ||||

I can't find this string. Was it in libardour.pot or gtk_ardour.pot? |

I didn't find again the exact same string, but there is two similar ones at ardour_ui.cc 2085 et 2107 Beside the plural form, a string with four variables is difficult to understand for translators, and the code should contain a gettext-extracted comment string to explain it or to give a few filled examples (I don't remember how to insert a comment string that can be extracted by xgettext to be displayed in the .pot) |

This exact issue does not exist in Ardour 2.8.1. The remaining issue is in 0001275. I think this one can be closed. |
