Summary0007588: Mouse click marks regions that don't belong together
DescriptionSome of the regions I click on and that are shared on two tracks don't belong together. E.g. I click on Region "Rode-46.1" on the track "Rode" and the respective regions "Senn-46.1" on the track "Senn" get's marked too. That's how it is supposed to be.

But when I click on region "Rode-45.1" on the track "Rode" there are 5 other, not corresponding regions on the track "Senn" that get marked too. I don't know why this happens.
Additional InformationI made a screencast of what happens.

Hi, it looks like a corresponding regions selection, see http://manual.ardour.org/working-with-regions/corresponding-regions-selection/

You should uncheck the "Select" property from your SEAGULL group.

He Headwar, yes it has to do with this. But the problem is, that Ardour detects corresponding regions wrong. Maybe the second video I uploaded makes it clearer. Before cutting, all regions correspondencies are correctly detected. But after cutting some of the first halves of the regions suddenly don't belong together anymore, whereas other regions corresponds with three other - actually uncorresponding - regions.

Can you check if this is still an issue with Ardour6 ( https://nightly.ardour.org/ ) ?

Also check Preferences > Editor > Editor Behavior > Regions in active groups are edited together: ...
Ardour6 now defaults to "only if they have identical length, position and layer" (which is new in A6).

Ardour5's default for selection ignored layering. The default was to select regions on other grouped tracks if they have the same start+end+offset times (regardless of layer).
After spitting it is very likely that regions on other tracks matched those criteria.

This mode is useful when moving complete arrangements around (move all layers to a different position).
