Summary | 0007052: On MIdi Import Crashes with Segmentation Fault
Description | Importing MIDI files that I have imported without problems in the past Ardour crashes. Not sure what has changed to make this happen now. Doesn't matter if the project file is new or old. Starting from shell, it reads: ozogre@ozture ~ ??? ardour 139 ? bind txt domain [gtk2_ardour5] to /opt/ardour/share/locale Ardour5.3.5 (built using 5.3-5-g0ff233d and GCC version 5.3.1 20160205) ardour: [INFO]: Your system is configured to limit Ardour to only 65.536 open files ardour: [INFO]: Loading system configuration file /opt/ardour/etc/system_config ardour: [INFO]: Loading user configuration file /home/ozogre/.config/ardour5/config ardour: [INFO]: CPU vendor: GenuineIntel ardour: [INFO]: AVX-capable processor ardour: [INFO]: CPU brand: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz ardour: [INFO]: Using SSE optimized routines Cannot xinstall SIGPIPE error handler ardour: [INFO]: Loading default ui configuration file /opt/ardour/etc/default_ui_config ardour: [INFO]: Loading user ui configuration file /home/ozogre/.config/ardour5/ui_config ardour: [INFO]: Loading color file /opt/ardour/share/themes/dark-ardour.colors ardour: [INFO]: Loading ui configuration file /opt/ardour/etc/clearlooks.rc ardour: [INFO]: Loading ui configuration file /opt/ardour/etc/clearlooks.rc Found nothing along /home/ozogre/.config/ardour5/templates:/opt/ardour/share/templates run dialog curl failed: No Error Scanning folders for bundled LV2s: /opt/ardour/lib/LV2 KP is ardour.keys Set cursor set to default Set buffering params to 262144|131072|10|10 Set buffering params to 262144|131072|10|10 Skip explicit buffer seconds, preset in use Skip explicit buffer seconds, preset in use actually writing state to /home/ozogre/Music Recording/Ardour Sessions/Derp/Derp.tmp renaming state to /home/ozogre/Music Recording/Ardour Sessions/Derp/Derp.ardour actually writing state to /home/ozogre/Music Recording/Ardour Sessions/Derp/Derp.tmp renaming state to /home/ozogre/Music Recording/Ardour Sessions/Derp/Derp.ardour actually writing state to /home/ozogre/Music Recording/Ardour Sessions/Derp/Derp.tmp renaming state to /home/ozogre/Music Recording/Ardour Sessions/Derp/Derp.ardour actually writing state to /home/ozogre/Music Recording/Ardour Sessions/Derp/Derp.tmp renaming state to /home/ozogre/Music Recording/Ardour Sessions/Derp/Derp.ardour [1] 7212 segmentation fault (core dumped) ardour ??ozogre@ozture ~ Not sure what other printouts you'd like. Please let me know if I can supply any other information.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Start a new project 2. Through the Session menu, select Import. Find the MIDI file, testing the file in the import windows playback function works fine. 3. Press Import. 4. System crashes (see description for shell output)

I can't reproduce with version 5.3(official linux 32bit), I tried importing the file you attached 10 times successfully. If you can reproduce this with an official build then a backtrace would be useful: https://ardour.org/debugging_ardour.html |

Can't reproduce either, with version 5.4 64b. The midi file loaded perfectly well. |
