Description | I don't know super well how to use ardour yet, but I was able to record some random notes using an Oxygen 25 MIDI keyboard, but I was unable to hear any notes while playing it, nor after I just played it. It did show the volume of the notes I pressed though, so that indicates that something was working? After encountering this issue, I fiddled with some audio settings, and MIDI settings, but to no avail. | ||||

Ardour records midi notes. But the task to play them back needs to be done by a a synthesizer hardware or a synthesizer program. I think this process might be described in: http://libremusicproduction.com/tutorials/recording-audio-and-using-midi-ardour-3 |

Yes, there is exactly explain how to use MIDI in Ardour, how to record and play it. Actually, a new midi track appear with built-in instrument "Reasonable Synth" as default, which it should play recorded midi notes. (but I recommend to use another software synth, amsynth for example) Maybe I don't understand it correctly, but I think it is just about "don't know super well ardour" problem, works for me in that way. |
