Just met this problem with v5.6. Yet not sure it's exactly the same problem, but yes, I do try to uncombine duplicated regions and they disappear instead of uncombining. At one time I've noticed that something was indeed uncombined, but instead turned into a 0-length region(s), which looked like fade-in/out zones clamped together. Those could be safely deleted. |

I can confirm this issue is still reproducible in 5.7 using the steps provided in the description. |

@timbyr: Just fyi, I had a look at how to fix that once and at that time it seemed rather complicated to me. I think a significant amount of code needs to be changed, especially the structure of how combines and duplicates are handled. The current approach seemed fundamentally wrong wrt fixing this bug. |
