I've been able to sometimes repeatedly mouseover the controls again to get the persistent tooltips to disappear. This is a fix for now, but less than desirable in the long run. |

The same happens on my PC with all the versions of Ardour 3.x |

I cannot reproduce this at all (probably window-manager or gdk/gtk version related). The tooltips should only occur when hovering over the panner (not the fader aka volume control) and the should always show up just below the panner (not randomly on the screen as the screenshot depicts). However, a potential fix for the issue for the stickiness is in version 3.2-287-g562bd68 - https://github.com/Ardour/ardour/commit/562bd68 |
