This problem is almost certainly caused by the presence of old versions of Ardour's panners in both: /usr/local/lib/ardour3/panners and /home/bsack/.config/ardour3/panners The latter are in place as the result of an earlier (silly) install decision. Ardour will no longer look in the former location (unless it should, because it was built and installed into /usr/local). Remove these two directories and the crash will go away. |

my previous explanation of this problem was totally, completely wrong. nevertheless, the problem *has* actually been solved ;) it is caused by a packaging error of the downloads from ardour.org. the fix will be present in the next release, whatever that may be. |
