what timestamp do you propose to add to the newly-created BWF file? the position at which it is imported? |
in video you can have the smpte timecode when using bwf files you have all the timestamp and the metadata of the original recording you can resync with the video it's also easier to find where the sound comes from exchanging with other daw will be easier if timestamps and metadata are still in the imported files |
i think you missed my point. files don't have positions on the ardour timeline. regions do. a file may be represented many times as different regions along the timeline. which timestamp do you propose to add to the file, given this? |
