Summary | 0003465: Impoper drawing of waveform
Description | When a stereo track recording is carried out,the waveform of one of the channels(some times both) is missing in the display. I have noticed this doesn't happen to the first region recorded in a freshly created session.Subsequently recorded regions suffer from this irregularity. Attached snapshot 01-04 indicate this. Also, in one of my machines(machine 1) it is 100% reproducible, while in the other (machine 2), it is not.(See attached info of the machines-as snapshot)
Additional Information | Actually it is an old bug (bug no 0002194),was closed as "resolved",but somehow it is still there. In one of the threads(http://ardour.org/node/2686) PAUL said peak file drawing is processor dependent, hence the machine info.( Both machines use Compiz- just in case this info is required) As a workaround, I used to do the following,(without deleting peak files or restart Ardour)to get proper display snapshot 01: First region not affected snapshot 02: Subsequent recorded region - affected snapshot 03: Do a split at anywhere in the affected region- now waveform restored. snapshot 04: Do a UNDO to avoid the unnecessary split
