| Description | if i add any lv2 plugin into the redirect box of a track and keep the plugin bypassed (not activating it in the redirect box), i will not be able to activate it from the plugins ui. if i activate the plugin in the redirect box, i can bypass it in the plugins ui, the plugin than is bypassed, but this is not reflected in the redirect box, as the plugin name is still without the brackets and looking like active. cheers, doc | ||||

afaik, this is only true for plugins with a custom gui. if ardour generates a default ui, everything behaves as it should. i don't even know if there's a mechanism for the host to tell the plugin it should deactivate itself, gui-wise. for now, if you really want to save cpu cycles, disable in the redirect. if you just want a quick a/b comparison, use the plugin UI's bypass (if any). might be that this problem requires some discussion on LAD to be solvable... |
