Description | when i import a file with german umlaute (or other UTF-8 characters) in the filename, i get an import error of the ardour file after reopening it in ardour. ERROR: XML error: Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding !Bytes: 0xE2 0x80 0x5F 0x39 in /home/alex/Ardour/nina_simone_go_to_hell/nina_simone_go_to_hell.ardour at line 89:37 this wav file: Und_fällt_eine kün_473251317.wav line 89: <Source name="Und_fällt_eine_kün_473251317.wav" take-id="" type="audio" flags="" id="85822" natural-position="a0" channel="0" origin="" gain="1"/> | ||||

That looks like your file-system or locale is not using UTF8, but ISO-8859-1 Does it work when you create a track in Ardour using umlauts? - If so then the issue is with the filename of the imported file. Can you open a terminal window, run locale and post the output? |
