Summary | 0008792: Audio Defaults to Output Device And Can't be Changed |
---|
Description | Audio output will default to one USB output device, and can't be changed. If you start a new session, and choose a different audio output device, it will ignore that choice and use the same audio output device. I have a Focusrite Scarlett, a generic USB audio output device, and built-in audio. Despite settings when creating a new session, Ardour 6.9 will always use the Scarlett device. If I unplug the Scarlett, and create a new session, I can then choose and use one of the other two audio output devices. |
---|
Steps To Reproduce | Create a new session. Choose Focusrite USB audio interface for input and output. Everything works. Close and start a new session. Choose another audio device for output. While another output device can be selected when creating the session, it will be ignored and the Focusrite will still be used when the session is started. |
---|
Additional Information | I have gone around and around on this. I am using an out of the box configuration and routing for Ardour, with the "Recording" session default. I thought it was my inexperience, but was able to immediately record and play back a session on my Macbook Pro, so I know it's nothing I am doing wrong. |
