Summary | 0008699: Audio setup input/output devices mislabelled/duplicates
Description | Using the CoreAudio backend, after stopping/starting the audio engine the inputs and outputs list can get messed up. "MacBook Pro Microphone" is listed twice, but sometimes only one or neither option works (selecting and monitoring on that input produces silence). Also, "MacBook Pro Speakers" are listed twice as well alongside "External Headphones" but it seems the External Headphones option produces silence and maybe one of the MacBook Pro Speakers options instead works as the External Headphones output.
Steps To Reproduce | Nothing precise but I can pretty quickly reproduce it by roughly doing something like: - Start Ardour with headphones NOT plugged in, select CoreAudio backend and MacBook mic input + Macbook speakers output & start session - Plug your headphones in - Open the Audio Setup and stop the audio engine - Click the input/output selector dropdown and view the list. The mic is probably listed twice alongside another option "ArdourDuplex" which doesn't seem to do much if you choose it. The speakers are also listed twice, along with External Headphones and ArdourDuplex. See screenshots attached.
