Summary | 0007962: Ardour 6.0-pre1 window does not fit the laptop screen
Description | Ardour 6.0-pre1 window does not fit the 1366x768 laptop screen. The lower 12 or so pixels missing (sometime more, sometimes less). It happens in "maximize" mode only, in fullscreen there is no problem. GUI scaling doesn't make improvement, only makes elements smaller, but the bottom is still cut off. Ardour 5.12 does not have this problem on the same laptop. Debian 10 with KDE desktop on 15' Dell Inspiron laptop.

This highly depends on desktop font and window decorations. You can try two things: * Scale down the GUI in Preferences > Appearance > GUI & Font scaling * Detach the preferences pane (Menu > Window > Preferences > Detach) - that Window may be too tall to fit under the main toolbar |

It seems that Ardour 6 has some problem dealing with Plasma desktop panel (the same with JWM, but NOT with fluxbox panel). The workaround would be to place the panel vertically (by the left/right edge) or to switch it to autohide mode. This is all interesting because KDE has some tiling capabilities and when tiled to the half of the (rather small) screen, Ardour elements scale beautifully. |
