Summary0007804: Mackie Control Protocol doesn't handle more than 8 MIDI ports
DescriptionWhen the Mackie Control Protocol is selected on a system with more than 8 MIDI ports, it creates persistent connections to the eighth MIDI ports on the system for input and output. Attempting to remove these in Qjackctl results in them immediately reconnecting. The ports can be changed in the dialog box to any of the system ports numbered between 1 and 8, but attempting to select either "Disconnected" or a port greater than 8 causes the dropdown selection to snap back to the eighth port on the system.

The Mackie control ports in Ardour can be manually connected in Qjackctl to the appropriate MIDI ports, at which point the control surface will work, but the persistent connections to the 0000008 system input and output ports remain and result in unwanted midi data being sent to (and theoretically received from) unrelated ports.

Not reproduceable here with 5.12 on a system with 11 MIDI ports.

More likely to be a problem with JACK and/or QJackctl on your system.
