Summary | 0007758: Message for realtime permission is wrong on install
Description | What I see: Message for realtime permission on install asks for permission to give JACK realtime permission for the audio group. Problem: This message should be independent of Jack since it is not installed. Message should ask for permission to give ARDOUR realtime permission and unlimited locked memory for the audio group. It should also make the user a member of the audio group too. It should also be a default selection and stated that it is recommended for ARDOUR. Ardiour is pretty much useless without this setting and yields many xruns. One can go through a bunch of unnecessary tweaks and kernel installs that pretty much destroys the usefulness of your system when not using Ardour which Ardour is a minor usage for me. I have done that and I'm on my third install.. this time using Mate 19.04 which should be a recommended system as it rates better than xfce in speed. There have even been suggestions on discourse.ardour.org to install avlinux and other tweaks . If this was neccessary, I would not be writing this bug. I am writing this based on 5.0 ubuntu repo . But I also experienced this with my paid download of 5.12 downloaded yesterday (as far as I can remember). 5.12 was pretty rough...I don't want to do this again.
