Summary | 0007682: Creating snapshots becomes extremely slow when the project has too many MIDI regions
Description | I've noticed that after I cross a certain point - my projects start to take a few minutes to create snapshot. I'm often using "Snapshot (& switch to new version)" to have a copy of project, and continue my work. My workflow includes using a lot of MIDI regions as I synthesize everything including drums - that seems to make Ardour choke at some point when creating new snapshots. What is interesting - the problem doesn't occur when saving current snapshot "in-place" (regular Session > Save function). I'm attaching an example session that this affected by this problem, though I see this happen in every single project after some point. it makes it quite difficult to work as I'd like to.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Load the attached session in Ardour 5.12 2. Perform "Snapshot (& switch to new version)" 3. See Ardour completely lock up for a few minutes.
