Summary | 0007539: Implement host gain reduction meter display using PreSonus 'canDo' for VST2 plug-ins |
---|
Description | PreSonus have a 'canDo' for VST2 (and an extension for VST3) which plug-ins can implement such that the host can periodically call the plug-in and get a gain reduction value in dBs. Typically this is used for dynamic range processors to provide information about how much gain reduction is currently being applied (by their VCA or equivalent). The host then displays this as a 'downward' bar meter in the channel strip.

Additional Information | I have plug-ins which implement this for Studio One 3. Wouldn't it be nice if Ardour supported it too.. |
