Summary | 0007421: Notes starting or ending close to loop region borders get stuck
Description | When using loop playback with MIDI tracks, the last note will never end if the loop end marker is close to it. I experienced this with Helm 0.9 and TAL Noizemak3r in Ardour 5.10 and 5.6 aswell. If a loop region starts and ends right where notes in a region start or end - they are very prone to never generate a note-off message (as I suppose) Moving the loop end markers further away to provide more time distance from the loop range borders to note borders (usually more than an 16th note) will stop the problem. It makes it very difficult to work with looped playback to program synth patches or compose melodies. I tried making some notes shorter or slightly delay they start to evade this problem, but it requires more time offset than I could apply without distorting the rhythm of the MIDI sequence so much that it'll sound wrong.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Create a MIDI track 2. Create a MIDI region with 4 quarternotes in a bar, each of a different pitch so you can hear when each starts and ends - they should never overlap. 3. Set loop markers around your 1-bar-long MIDI region and pres L to start looped playback 4. Watch for stuck notes - indicated by harmonies sounding where there should be none.
