Summary0006754: Creating a track with tape mode causes a spike in memory usage
DescriptionCreating a track with tape mode causes a spike in memory usage that blocks the GUI until the process is killed by out-of-memory or other means.
Steps To ReproduceCreate new session.
Right click in the left-bus area to open the New track pop-up.
In the dialog, select tape recording mode.
Once you hit +Add, everything will freeze. If you have some memory monitor in the status bar you can see the runaway memory allocation.
Additional InformationI cannot reproduce this effect if I create a track in normal mode and the switch it to tape mode.

Thanks for the report. I can confirm this issue on linux with nightly build 4.6.201

I'm not sure If tape tracks are still "supported" and perhaps they should be hidden in the GUI.

You will have to wait for someone who knows a bit more about them to comment.
