Summary | 0006754: Creating a track with tape mode causes a spike in memory usage
Description | Creating a track with tape mode causes a spike in memory usage that blocks the GUI until the process is killed by out-of-memory or other means.
Steps To Reproduce | Create new session. Right click in the left-bus area to open the New track pop-up. In the dialog, select tape recording mode. Once you hit +Add, everything will freeze. If you have some memory monitor in the status bar you can see the runaway memory allocation.
Additional Information | I cannot reproduce this effect if I create a track in normal mode and the switch it to tape mode. $ uname -a Linux isila 4.2.0-25-lowlatency 0000030-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT Mon Jan 18 13:13:07 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available.
