Summary | 0006617: Session restore after crash does not work
Description | This is a random trouble I have seen over and over again. Because it is so random and hard to reproduce while still frequent I would like to file this as a bug anyway.
Additional Information | Desaster recovery is a good thing but in Ardour it is unpredictable. In about 3 out of 5 cases of a crash or freeze of A4.2 there is no dialog popping up to inform about the restoration while still some restoration takes place. While the "official" restoration works as expected, these cases of restoring sessions without popping up the dialog beforehand it is unpredictable, what point and what aspects of the crashed session will be restored. Today I had a case, when the stretching of a region crashed ardour (as it often does) when reopening the session there was no restoration dialogue but the zoomlevel and point of cursor in the session was properly restored, plus two cuts I made about 20 minutes before the crash and I did *not* save the session in that time. Timestretch tool was also being restored but not the cuts I made about 2 minutes before the crash. Please tell me. what I can do to provide some more information to spot that bug, that annoys me again and again since A3 was released....
