| Description | (linux)VST plug-ins which have previously passed scanning and validation, and may even be in use in a session, no longer appear in the menu after being updated to more recent versions. It appears as if A4 looks at the VST Vendor Version number or some other version / time stamp, and upon discovering a change removes the plug-in from the menu / session / plug-in manager pending a re-scan. If re-scan at boot is not enabled - which it isn't as per the default config - to the user it falsely appears as if their newly installed, updated plug-in update is broken. This may even have repercussions if the session auto-saves without the (new) plug-in enabled. Either way it causes a support headache and lots of time wasted for plug-in developers / users. |

| Additional Information | Using Cubase as an example, once a plug-in has passed validation, it remains valid irrespective of updates / version changes, unless, it subsequently crashes in which case it is blacklisted, requiring a re-scan to reinstate it (assuming it has been fixed). This is the expected (and more sensible) behaviour. |
