Summary | 0005896: Unlinked MIDI files get deleted during when closing Ardour v3.5.357.
Description | I am using Arch Linux. To reproduce, create a new project and add a MIDI region. You can add a few notes, but this is not necessary. Copy and paste the region, then right-click on the copy and choose MIDI > Unlink from other copies. As expected, a new MIDI file appears in ProjectName/interchange/ProjectName/midifiles. Keep an eye on these two files. Save the project, close the program and the copy is gone. When you reopen your session Ardour obviously complains about missing MIDI files.
Additional Information | Interestingly, when you run Session > Clean-up > Clean-up Unused Sources the MIDI file does NOT get deleted. It is lost at the "Please wait while Ardour cleans up" stage.
