| Description | If I press Alt+B to open the Big Clock, (or invoke it from the Window menu), Ardour silently crashes immediately. This happens in either of the two A3 sessions I currently have; these are just simple test sessions while I learn A3 (most of my work so far was on A2), with only a few tracks and 3 minutes of simple stereo music, no plugins, automation or nothing fancy. It happens regardless of whether JACK is started manually before Ardour, or if Ardour invokes it itself, even at maximum latency settings of 1024 frames/period (46.4ms). I don't have gdb on this system at present to create a backtrace (and might not be able to install it for a while). The core file produced by the crash is 10MB. Oops, I forgot to mention the soundcard is an RME HDSP Digiface and all 6 CPUs are using the performance governor, with no other heavy system load. |

I can confirm the same problem with both Ardour 3.5.380 and cairocanvas latest source. I also have fluxbox and xinerama (on 3 screen with 1280x768+1440x900+1280x768), graphics is from xorg intel (intel hd graphics 4000, direct cpu support, no dedicated graphics card), xorg 1.15.0, fluxbox 1.3.5 (latest stable), gentoo linux 32bit. This is the output of gdb: The program 'ardour-3.5.2220' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
