i don't understand what the issue is here. |

Let's say I have an area where the level is 0.0 db with a small step down in the middle of -3 db. Then I range select the area and trim it down a bit. I would expect that the 3 db difference will not change. In Ardour it will grow. |

ok. this happens because the mapping between the GUI and actual gain coefficients being non-linear. 2 pixels at the bottom of a fader automation track is a different number of dB than 2 pixels 3/4 of the way up. its a bit of a problem to fix because when moving individual points this difference is very desirable, so that moving control points has the same non-linear feel as moving the fader itself. i'll give it some thought. |
