Summary | 0004591: Layering model problems, Combine malfunction ("most recently added is higher" mode)
Description | - Raise & Lower do not work, only Raise to top and Lower to bottom - Visually: When two regions overlap and you drag the regions a little bit (while keeping the overlap), the region you've dragged looks as if it's on top, even though it's not audible (and it shouldn't, so the visual represanation is wrong). This happens in "most recently added is higher" mode. In other words, visually it behaves like "most recently moved is higher". - Combine: Overlapt 2 regions in "most recently added is higher" mode, but make the first one (in time) higher. Combine them. The combined region will have a click or pop noise at the -formally silent- overlap to the former 2nd later region. If you undo this, suddenly the second region is higher.

this has all changed in svn. please try again - i suspect you will find that all these issues are gone, since the change that caused them (we think) has been reverted. |

Revision 11113: Raise & Lower work now, but I'm confused - the option to set the layering model is completely gone! It's neither in the session properties nor in the preferences. Additionally, combine is still broken as described. The visual inaccuracies are gone, I believe. |
|
The same with rev. 11265; plus when you undo a combine where this pop happens, the drawing may be wrong (but audio is fine). |
|
The problems with combine should be fixed in SVN 12643; any test results would be welcome. |

Hey, sorry for the long delay, have been busy and somehow missed the email about your update. I'm running SVN 13265 here. The layerring seems to work pretty well now! Combine/uncombine remains problematic, though: 1. Create a new session 2. Set the fades to short and import 2 files. 3. Partly overlap the second region over the first one, the second one should be higher now. 4. Combine - the first region was wrongly taken as the higher one. 5. Uncombine - everything back to normal. 6. Do 1-3 again. 7. Raise the first region 8. Combine - should be correct 9. Uncombine - second region is magically on top again. Mindblowing almighty combine ;) |
