Summary | 0004382: Ardour hangs when drag-copying region
Description | ardour hangs when copying region under certain circumstances as described below. step1: put ardour in LOCK EDIT mode. step2: select a region. step3: ctrl+ click drag the region (horizontally) into the same track.(may be this is illegal, but sometimes it happens by mistake.) step4: Since it is LOCK EDIT mode, the newly generated copy of the region cant be placed nearby in the same track, but sit on top of the source region. step5: Drag this copy of the region to adjacent track. step6: Region copy goes to the adj track, but Ardour hangs.
Additional Information | I just wanted to copy a region to an adjacent track under LOCK EDIT mode,to get a copy of the region, that sit in the same position in the time line as of the source region.By mistake I dragged horizontally instead of vertically. Then what happened is described in step4. Realizing my mistake,I just dragged the copy to the adjacent track. The copy went to the adj track, but ardour hangs. System: Ubuntu 10.10 , kernel 2.6.35-22.33 Ardour 2.8.12 build 10146 jack 1.9.7~dfsg-1+kxstudio4~maverick3 The mentioned issue was checked with Ubuntu 11.10,giving the same result.
