Summary | 0003872: Crash on missing real-time permissions for jack.
Description | Ardour crashes with the message: "cannot use real-time scheduling (FIFO at priority 10) [for thread -1218438960, from thread -1218438960] (1: Operation not permitted) cannot create engine" I am aware of the root of the problem being me not having configured my box correctly to enable real-time use with jack, but I don't think Ardour should crash. Perhaps (if this malconfiguration can be detected) Ardour could suggest to run jack without the real-time flag set?
