| Summary | 0003802: Slow gui performance with many midi notes/regions | ||||
| Description | The gui performance of A3 becomes increasingly slow when inserting more midi notes/regions. I've imported 4 Songs (each about 6 Minutes) with drums, bass, 2 guitars and vocals, so 4x5 regions with quite some notes in it. Scrolling, zooming, dragging, right-clicking the tracks etc. is getting very slow here. DSP is at 14%. | ||||
| Additional Information | Midi Playback, start/stop is fine. I'm working at 128 periods (jackd) and qsynth/fluidsynth as the midi engine. | ||||

I've attached a sample session, newly created with A3-9293. The session makes no sense, i.e. I've not aligned the regions and it's not even connected to a midi synth but it shows the behaviour. All I did was: - Create a new project - import 4 midi files from http://rock.mididb.com/metallica/ Before importing, A3 zooms and reacts smoothly, after importing, zooming and general reaction time is very slow (context menus etc.). With more midi files, it gets worse. |
