Summary | 0003295: Canonical track numbering to allow identically-named tracks | ||||
Description | Chris wants a couple of features which are probably linked: 1. Tracks to have numbers, unrelated to editor/mixer order. So, for example, you create 32 tracks and they are numbered 1-32. These numbers are not changed unless the user specifically requests it. Adding / removing tracks may or may not change these numbers, depending on an option. 2. Allow multiple tracks to have the same name. This could perhaps be implemented by composing tracks' JACK port names using number and name, so one could have two tracks named "Kick" and their JACK port names would be something like 1. Kick 2.
