Summary | 0001769: New ideas for future developments | ||||
Description | Hi there, I have been using ardour for a while and recording professionnaly since 1990. I like the system of playlist although it could enhanced around this few ideas: - instead of displaying on the track the selected playlist, we could implement a button that 'unfold' the different playlist for that same track as 'layers'. - the playlists not selected could be of a dotted colored background to be able to quickly recognized which one is selected. - we could that would compare them visually, I am thinking about the track of a bass drum played on a click. - we could cut and slice them as normal track editing and that way select bits of any of them to be played. In addition and maybe more important, grouping playlist could be very handy, imagine two takes of a drum set (15 mics), imagine again that we want to take the first half of take 1 and second half of take 2, if we could have two special track that correspond to the group of tracks of take one and take two, we could easily cut this track at the P point mut the other and do the inverse on the second half of the special group track. done in 1s What do you think ? The grouping of playlists would be very handy for me, currently mixing down 24 tracks of 4 takes of live performance, and the ability to switch between nights at ease would be VERY useful. Seablade |

[I read in the bugs instructions that if an identical feature request already exists in Mantis, we should vote for it rather than create a new request of our own, and I suppose it doesn't matter that the request is almost a decade old? If so, apologies for going about it the wrong way.] I just wanted to support the request of being able to stack each track's playlists, a bit like the ProTools playlist overview, or a playlist variant of the existing comp feature. |
